Hi
after struggling for ages with my "Linksys wireless 2.4GHZ" my friend now tells me i need a modem with ethernet connection. i have a sagem modem.
I have an external modem (USB port).
he says i need a wireless router with built on modem, or a new modem with ethernet port to attach to the router.
Is that right!?!?
Thanks
if your modem c0connects to your PC with USB you will need a modem with Ethernet connection or a wireless modem router.
are you on ADSL (coming down phone line with a splitter)
Yes im on ADSL.
The Modem is indeed connected to the PC with a Type B USB.
ta
has your modem got a Ethernet port, if not it would be easier to get a modem that connects with Ethernet, then you can connect straight to the WAN port on the router.
read this regarding Ethernet over USB

sorry! onem ore question if you dont mind...
i can either sell my linksys 2.4ghz (54mbs) broadband router and 802.11b netgear card and buy a new one with modem, or keep it and buy a new ethernet modem. which would you advise?!
i would assume 2.4ghz (54mbs) is out of date now!
thanks
