Ok I am stumped with this.

I am not able to startup (already searched various threads). The computer shows "Drive not ready - System halted". But the same drive works with my other pc where I am typing this problem from. Checked BIOS predelay isnt turned on yet. I have already done following
1) Checked the drive with other machine
2) Checked new drive with this machine
3) MoBo checked by tech guy
4) Processor is up n running
5) Bios --at times, detects the hard drive

Just after the intel logo screen it goes point blank with the message..
Its my data storage pc..please help.
Configs:

XP pro
P4 1.6
1Gig Ram (RD) pairs of 256MB X 4
AGP card, buindled with sys
Guess mobo is 850 intel original
Have nothing connected yet!

does the drive run as master on another machine or can you only run it as a slave?

have you tried resetting the BIOS?

Hey thanks alot! It worked. Problem Solved..
Though there is just one question.. why does this sorta thing happens? And i did not do anything but change the jumper setting on mobo to reset and then it asked me to reset the pass and crap thats it!

Just being curious why does it happen?

It could be down to the battery coming to the end of it's life
