    Question CPU temp problem

I have a AMD anthlon XP 3200+, at regular idle its usually around 47C.... which is pretty much normal for AMD reputation for Temps.

The problem i have tho is that when i plug in my ADSL USB connection to my usb 2.0 port. My temp rises to 65C.... some times it reaches about 70C... which im a bit worried about... i have a nice big STOCK heatsink with a fan on it... i have one custom fan. and a rear case fan, This should be more than enough cooling, i am thinking it is a Hardware interference with the Modem USB port and the temperature montior. Any suggestions On what this problem is?...

look as thou when you plug in your modem the voultage for the CPU changes ???
if you have a cpu speed monitor take a look in it and see if the cpu speed is changing at all ... also are you over clocking the CPU at all ?

You could get the Volcano 9 or newer heatsink made by thermaltake i believe ??
I have one on my 2.6xp athlon ... it cooled the cpu by 20c opposed to the standard heatsink !!!

But really a USB device should not effect the temp of the CPU .. only programs and games that utilise more than 80% of your CPU should effect the temp

    Hope this helps.
