Xp and my hardware are doing strange things

I have no idea what is going on
For some reason my computer will suddenly just restart on me no matter what i am doing whether it be surfing the net or playing games or just idle on desktop

Then if I am lucky enough and my computer doesnt restart on me applications suddenly will not work no matter what they do or are. They come up with different errors each time like "This program failed to start error (0xc00014)... or this application failed to start because it has been moved or replaced. Yet i havent done anything just letting it sit idle in desktop

My computer is pretty much out of the box bout 2 months old now built at a computer shop by a technician (I hope).

ive used speedfan to check temps they are all running at an ideal level
ive checked viruses using pc cillin 2005 updated
ive used spy bot search and destroy for spyware and wat not

i have reinstalled windows xp pro using two different copies my one and then i borrowed my friends to see if it was my disc but it would still reboot on me for no apparent reason even when i hadnt installed any programs besides the ones that install with windows like windows messanger

i recently updated my drivers for my motherboard and have finally had less restarts for no reason but i still am restarting when my programs start behaving strangely ie they wont open

I have updated drivers for everything and the only peripherals connected are my speakers, mouse, keyboard

Ive been searching the net for my problem and i think it may be my harddrive and motherboard combination

I have a 200gb seagate hardrive and albatron K8-SLI i have a 500w psu which is connected to the socket by itself so it is getting plenty of juice.

I have given the computer a clean i didnt touch any of the circuits i just blew that air out of a can to get the dust off and out

Event viewer leads to no soulution no application errors or warnings

i am however getting one system error event id 10000
that dcom server failed to start

cpu usage is maintaining at about 50% which i know isnt right when idle and bout 20mins after loading

page file usage is 2gb i think that isnt right as well

Im starting to give up on this thing im thinking of just getting a new hard drive a western digital i dont want too but if thats what i gotta do then thats what i gotta do

I do have warrenty as well for one year olay :-p

Thanx in advance even if you cant see the problem

oh and i havent overclocked anything

    See what you can do
    Thanx again

Warranty. I would take it back and demand a working machine.

You can run Western Digital diagnostics:

Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for DOS (Floppy)

    http://support.wdc.com/download/?cxml=n&pid=999&swid=2

You are correct in that the CPU usage as well as the Page File is not acceptable.

An idling machine should have zero to an occasional few % CPU usage.

Page File in XP usually runs @ 300MB or less after a fresh boot.

We can help you run some tests but again my initial response is use your Warranty!

    And DEMAND satisfaction!

The error you mention is an application error not an XP error per se.

    Did it specify the application?

If you want to try and analyze the XP errors:

Go to start | search (type in) .dmp
Note the location of your .dmp files.

    Then:

    1) Download and install the
    Debugging Tools from Microsoft
    2) Download and install this
    debugwiz
    3) Open the Wiz & Browse to, or paste in the path to, your .dmp file.
    4) After the Wiz creates a Text document attach it back to this thread.
