I need to install a new graphic card as soon as possible, but I don't know which one to buy. I've been told different computers can take different card (PCI/AGP, I don't know what either of those stand for or what they are) I have an Emachines W2925 ( this is how the inside looks like --- http://images.tigerdirect.ca/SkuImag...00-W2925-p.jpg) I only have those white slots, a friend told me that those slots are only for basic cards.... My question is which graphic card would be best for my computer, and is there any way to add another slot, like the one in this picture (Circled in red) http://www.cheapcomputersandparts.co...d-AGP-Slot.jpg . (I would post the images without the links but they are far too big.)

Your motherboard only has PCI slots. There is no PCI card that will be better than your on-board chip.

You cannot add an AGP slot. You would need a new motherboard. Sorry

, ooo that sucks... the card I have now just dosen't cut it, is there a computer that you would recommend that would support GeForce 7600 GS (its PCI-E i hear thats another type of PCI slots but not the same one I have.)

PCI-E is the latest type of slot/interface. It has nothing in common with PCI except those 3 letters.

Looking for a new computer you should ask yourself: what you want to do? (high end gaming?) And how much do you want to spend?

I, myself, would recommend building your own but that depends on your interest or lack of in this mechanical area.

Also just to clarify: have you added a PCI card or are you using the onboard chip that came with the computer?

PCI graphics cards are somewhat hard to find as that is such an old interface. There are some however such as:

Just remember PCI is NOT PCI E (or express).

I might have spoken too quickly earlier that you cannot upgrade with a PCI card but it won't get you much more in my opinion.

Sorry for having so many questions but I want to know what I need and what I'm suppose to do . Yes, its for gaming and money would not be much of a problem in a few months because I spent a lot last night(need to pay that off) , I need something fast so lower the price the better but I don't want something way too cheap that will do me no good. I have no knowledge of the "Inside" of a comp I have not cared much until now that I have bad LAGG and need to get rid of it . I'm still using the card that came with the PC. Of those 3 card you posted which one would work out the best . Thx again and sorry for all the stupid questions .

eMachines online is not much help with details.

I tryed that , i just get the HTML code . I'll try restarting.. sigh.

You need to use IE if you are not. Run it do not Save it etc.

Pros: Easy to install, the best PCI you can get for PCI-limited folk.
Cons: Not exactly an AGP-substitute, still lags and is DirectX 8.

Bottom Line: I would only recommend this to PCI-limited folk who don't want to go through the trouble of upgrading their motherboard. Otherwise, stick to AGP or PCI-e cards if compatible with.

Pros: Great for a PCI card, Playable game framerates, everyday tasks done well.
Cons: Can not Max out game settings, skips on video sometimes, ATi fileplayer a slight annoyance

Pros: Looks nice, easy install
Cons: Wont play Battlefield 2.

This appears to be the best PCI card out there.

The fact that it is Direct X 8 limited plus the PCI interface means it will not play really high end games But would probably be an improvement over the Intel 845 chip that you have.


If you want to play today's and tomorrow's games you should look into a new computer.
