Transfering Data to a New Hard Drive

I recently upgraded to a 250 GB S-ATA Hard Drive, I've installed it and all works fine, but what I want to do now it so take everything off my old P-ATA (40 GB) and put it on the S-ATA one, I was just wondering whats the way to do this so that the computer will boot the OS off the S-ATA HD instead of the P-ATA one. Thanks.

    Dan
P.S I'm not sure if you need this or not but I'm using WinXP Pro SP2.

You will find many cloning ideas and approaches here:

As to which drive boots: this is determined by your BIOS boot menu.

Make sure that the SATA is in slot 0 or 1 and not in SATA/RAID 3 or 4.

Also if there are any booting problems it often helps to remove the ATA drive from the boot menu altogether.
