What exactly is happening? Does the BIOS POST? Is the hard drive detected in the BIOS?

On a new motherboard you have to reinstall XP.

Yes you need a Graphics Card:

    ga-7n400

    http://www.giga-byte.com/Products/Mo...ProductID=1672

    1 x AGP slot (8x/4x-AGP 3.0 compliant), supports 1.5v display card only

I would recheck the connections if you think that it is not working.

You really don't want your hard drive making sounds.

As long as it is spinning. A good new hard drive should be pretty silent.

When you get a graphics card you will be able to see if the drive is detected by the BIOS.

And again you will need to re-install XP onto this motherboard.

What is the make and model of the card?

Are you sure that it is compatible with the motherboard?

When you say nothing comes up? Not even a No Signal message?

Does the monitor LED go to green?

    What exactly is happening?
