TV Tuner Problems
Hi there,
I have a Twinhan Ter D+A tv tuner installed into a pretty good computer (P4 2.8GHz, 1GB RAM, XP Pro, etc) and recently had a wideband aerial professionally installed in order to receive Freeview. The installer confirmed that the signal coming down the cable is perfect, yet when I connect it up to my computer, the picture stutters and 'screeches' every few seconds. I have updated all my hardware and software but the problem continues. The tuner picks up all the channels fine and stores EPG data well, but the digital reception on all the channels stutters and is glitchy. The analogue reception does not stutter, but every few minutes the picture freezes completely but the sound continues as normal.
Any advice or suggestions anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated!
Cheers.

Update:
I have discovered that in fact it is my wireless network that is causing the problem! When my wireless adapter is enabled the digital reception is glitchy and stuttering but when I disable the adapter the signal is fine and I can watch tv fine!
If anyone has any ideas how to overcome the interference I would appreciate it as disabling my NIC and therefore my internet connection each time I want to watch tv is a bit of a hassle!
So any ideas?

do you know if it is just the reciever that is causing the problem? or is it the router?

I assume it is just the receiver. The router stays on continuously and does not interfere with the tv signal when the adapter is disabled. The wireless adapter is the only thing that messes up the signal - everything else remains constant.

in that case, you could try moving the two cards (tv tuner and wifi) away from eachother in the computer. try moving them to different pci slots. you may have to move some other cards aswell

Cheers, but I've already tried that. I assume the wireless network signal continues to interfere with the tv cable even if it placed a little further away. I've never heard of anyone else having this problem so I wondered whether it was something I was doing wrong?

i'm not sure. it could be the type of wireless network, or the settings on your tv card. I have the same stups (wifi and tv card next to eachother) and it works for me. you could try getting a new tv or wifi card. as you said, your problem is probably unique.
