tried to put my hard drive in a computer with faster processere but it would not boot e-mail me for specifics or any advise you may have for me thanx

what O/S are you running are the motherboard the same?
have you got all the instalation discs?

Im running win xp but im not sure if the mother boards are the same i Know for sure the mother board that has a faster processor is an intel motherboard and i think the other one is amd i think not 100% sure though. But both computers have the exact same hardware.

and i have installation discs but dont want to format my hard drives

When you change a motherboard you need to reinstall XP.

A Repair Install might work which would mean no format but a Clean Install is widely recommended for good performance.

The only exception would be if you followed these steps on the old board:
