CPU and CASE fans arnt working, why?

Both my CPU and CASE fan dont work... i have a an ACER ASPIRE T310 Standard LL2 which i bought for AU$800. It has around 750mb of ram and i think a 256 mb Ati Radeon grpahics card.

It happend one day while i was palying computer games and the comp unexpectedly shutdown after further inspection the cpu heatsink was hot and upon restart none of the fans have been spinning. what could be the problem? is it a bad MOBO or the bad 230Watt PSU the comp came with?

I would suspect the 230Watt PSU.

I would replace it with a 350Watt minimum.

420 or so would be more desirable.

PSU would be my first thought like Jephree. However, if after replaceing the PSU it still doesnt boot, the Processor/MB may have fragged shortly afterwards.

    Hello,

In my exsperiance, as already mentioned, when the PSU starts playing up it takes out a lot more then just its self.

I hope you get away with it, I really do but exspect more trouble.

    I agree go for a 450w psu.

Thanks i will go buy a new PSU... but is it possible that i could have a damged mobo aswell? coz ive unplugged the case fan and detached the extra ram card and the grpahics card i installed from the mobo and tried another fan... still nothing. i tried the cpu fan again and it still wont spin with everything detached.

Oh 1 more thing the whole computer still worx im using it now i just have a pedestal fan cooling the comp. Dont worry theer is a fine mesh filter all around the gaps and behind the fan to keep dust out.
