OK ... even tho I just re-read this thread from the beginning perhaps we should start over.

Maybe another set of eyes will pick up on something or maybe we might see something overlooked.

As of now is the computer OK except when: playing games? playing online server games?

You changed the motherboard but are using the previous graphics card?

Did you have any problems with the old setup? Why did you upgrade?

What about your network card? Do you have one? Is it new?

Just skimming through this thread, I would bet my bottom dollar that a new video card would solve this.

ok this is what i had in my old computer:

asus a7v socket a
amd 1.4ghz socket a
1 gb sdram (server RAM)
200gb hardrive
radeon 9800
some old random network card
sound blaster live

so i upgraded 5 things:

amd athalon 64 3700+
1gb value select cosair RAM
a8v mobo
400 watt psu 17a
arctic cooling freezer 64 pro (heatsink/fan, runs cpu 34 celcius)

so im using 6month old hardrive, 9800 gfx card, network card(i have an onboard network card, i could try using that) and sound card

yeah my computer works fine except playing games (which is all i use it for, except speaking notepad lol)

oh, i have another problem:
when i try to change resolution in cs, 800x600 to 1024x768, it will exit and save changes, but when i try to get into the game after it does that, my computer screen has crazy colors and it will restart.
when i open counter strike, the resolution is set to 800x600... gfx card problem?

hey jephree... i fixed this problem

i went into my bios and went to advanced chipset then agp slot ... i changed it from agp 8x to 4x and now my computer works perfectly...

im so happy now lol ..
no i can scrim with my clan again
