    Re: computer restarts/shuts down

ok... this is what happens on bf1942:
after i load a map, not playing online, and its time to go first person, the screen just turns black... it sits there for ... 15 seconds. Then, the 3 lights (num lock, caps lock, scroll lock) flash, and the begging screen shows up ( with the asus logo) running POST (i thinks that is what it is called) and then the computer starts up again

it does the same thing OCCASOINALLy when i try to refresh server list on cs...

This is most likely a hardware problem. If the Operating System were involved you would generally recieve blue screen errors (BSOD's).

Can you verify your current BIOS version?

It is the first listing although you have the latest BIOS with the exception of a BETA version which you do not want.

    Check you RAM placement:

Install identical DIMM pair in DIMM_A1 and DIMM_B1 (blue sockets)

Or try just one stick in DIMM_B1

That appears to be OK. There is a list in the manual:

    http://dlsvr03.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/.../e1994_a8v.pdf

Just to verify you have them in slots: DIMM_A1 and DIMM_B1 (blue sockets)
