Hey,
I've recently been having problems with my Disk Drive on my laptop, It can run DVD's and audio CD's. But when I try to run any game disk it tries to run but it doesn't run. I have tried this with many games and none of them worked but all CD's and DVD's work. When I write the d:\ command prompt with a game disk in the drive it says 'insert a disk in d:\'.
Just say if you need anymore detail. My O.S is Windows XP home edition.

Do you have Auto Play turned on?

If so what happens when you insert the game disk?

Is it different with your other disks?

These settings are found by right clicking D: and the click Properties | AutoPlay
