Depends what you're looking for. If you're a heavy gamer, I can help you out.
Yes, I am a huge gamer man here is my spec's now
AMD Athlon 64 processor
3000+
2.0ghz
1ghz ram
Go with the XFX Nvidia GeForce 6600GT 128MB AGP 8x. It's affordable and is one of (if not the best) video cards you can get.
Must be nice to have a computer that doesn't crash every 2 minutes, it's a miracle I was able to write this.
This video card is better then the one I have now? What I am looking to is, to build a better and fast cpu (using AMD MB)Go with the XFX Nvidia GeForce 6600GT 128MB AGP 8x. It's affordable and is one of (if not the best) video cards you can get.
Ok, sorry for misunderstanding.
However, the 6600GT is a much more powerful and overall better card than the FX5200. But if money is no object, I can suggest some other models. When it comes to gaming, a powerful video card is a basic necessity.
If you're looking to increase your computer performance, there are many things you can do, such as adding another GB of RAM, buying a new processor (perhaps dual-core if you already don't have one) and a new and powerful hard drive.
Thanks for the advice man. Okay, what about updating MB/Processor (dual) and more RAM. My current MB has AGP port for gaming and only 64. Thinking go with PCI EXpress vs AGP and Dual processor. Now, what kind of HardDrive do u suggest?
It's more than likely that your motherboard supports SATA drives. I suggest perhaps a Maxtor 260GB SATA.
When buying a hard drive, it's good to keep the future in mind. Don't skimp on space and featuresNew SATA and SATA-II HDs provide great performance and value but I suggest a brand such as Maxtor to ensure its quality.
And since you already have 1024GB of RAM, another Gig would really step up your performance.
Ultimate multi-tasker, ahoy!
Yes, my current MB does support SATA infact, it has dule hook-up. I am going to buy 2 sticks of 1ghz of Ram. I currently using 2 512's.
