Hi

I'm running win2000 on a dell laptop, up until recently the cdrom/dvd rw drive was fine and then stopped working. I've had a look at the log file and it says that the error with the cdrom is a "bad block" if tried cleaning the cd's to no avail. I've tried reinstalling the drive with its drivers but no luck there either. when I put an audio cd in it Windows media player launchs but then just sits there and does not play the cd. If I right click on the cd drive I can see the contents of the cd and if I right click on a song and select "play" the song will open in windows media player but will not play (in the play list the title of the song turns red".

Any help would be greatly appreciated
