    PC turns on doesnt boot

My pc will turn on. All Fans Lights drives start, the monitor light turns green for a few seconds then back to amber. Thats as far as it gets. Ive tried reseting the cpu. Pulling memory out ect.. A different video card, and still nothing. I have noticed somthing strange. I have a gaming wheel plugged into the usb port and it takes 5 mins before it powers up. I get no beeps or anything just spinning fans and drives, and my pc temp has never gone beyond 39 deg Celcius. Could the problem i have be Power Supply problem.

Oh I have had this problem before, but all i had to do is wait for 2 hrs or so and it would boot up fine but would shut down after 10 mins and restart. That went away after a few weeks and worked fine.

    Any Ideas.

I have a 450 Powersupply 3.2 ghz 64chip 2 dvd drives 160gig HD 512k mem and a 64mb Nvidia GFX card that does still work

Sounds like it could be the Power Supply. Is it old?

I would remove everything except one stick of RAM in the first slot and the CPU and the Graphics card.

Try booting that. If still no go see if you can force beeps. Boot without RAM. Does it beep?

If so let everyone know to stay away!

Have you tried clearing the CMOS via jumpers and or temporarily removing the motherboard battery?

    Yep thats the Company.
Warranty went up last month and they cant help me. I tried the psu in my old machine and it works. I havent tried clearing the CMOS, could that be a prob? Ill give it a shot tonight. Thanks for your help.

My Old Machine is a 1.3 ghz Cel 512mb ram 64mb video 1 dvd drive. I know its not using as much power from the psu as my new one did. Could it still be a weak psu but gives out enough power for my old machine?

Clearing the CMOS is just like a last effort. It might spark something.

Do you feel any heat coming off the CPU?
