hi i have a toshoba satellite pro 4600 ive had it a will but recently it will turn on every now and then when i go to power it up , it turns on say once out of ten attemps the rest of the time i only get a green lite can anyone help me to solve and repair it thank you

Are you using the AC adapter?

Are you sure that the battery is OK?

Have you removed the battery and tried the AC adapter?

hi thanx for the reply i know its not the battery as i have a toshiba 4000cds aswell and i use the battery from that as well and its ok but if i leave it over night then power up in the morning it starts up no hassel it only seems to be when it gets warm .? the ac adapter is ok it runs off that alone but i havent tryed booting up with just the ac so ill try that.

You state that this only happens when it gets warm? Have you used any compressed air to clean out the air vents on the laptop? It sounds like you are having a thermal issue if this only happens when it gets warm...and how warm is warm? Keyboard is hot, bottom is hot, bottom is not buring but is fairly hot?

ive tryed powering by ac but no luck . it s not the vent as ive cleaned it out but it gets warm not hot but the warmer it gets the longer it takes to start it seams to be a toshiba fault as ive seen many with this fault not just the pro 4600 but id like to resolve the problem as its my pride and joy . and im stuck on how to repair it . the keypad stays cold its just the bottom that gets warm .
