After my computer got a virus of some sort, I had to reload XP - however I no longer have any sound when I run DVD's - I didn't have an audio device but I have downloaded this. But it now appears I have no sound card - although this cannot be true as I previously had sound.

Should I reload XP again - help!!! my little boy needs to watch his Teletubbies, Brum and Thomas the Tank Engine.

To determine whether Windows has correctly loaded the right files for your sound card, right-click on My Computer, then select Properties from the menu. Click the Hardware tab and then the Device Manager button. You should see various categories in a list and, when you click the + symbol next to the categories, you'll see each device inside the computer that relates to each category. Any that have a problem will be expanded from the category level and will have an 'exclamation mark' warning symbol next to them. Do you have any hightlighted in this way and, if so, which ones are they?
