pc won't see my keyboard. how do i type the password in??

    Hallo

my pc failed to start and presented the following message: "system ced is missing or corrupt".

i downloaded a few tips on how to repair it but now, as i attempt to access the system, the pc won't recognize my keyboard.

in order to access my system i am supposed to type a password in. how ddo i type the password if the pc doesn't accept my keyboard?

pc is pentium 3. OS is win 2000

    thanks

Is this like what you tried?

    http://www.windowsnetworking.com/kba...orcorrupt.html

Is the keyboard USB or PS2?

Do you get any lights on the keyboard? Any error message?

Do you know the exact make and model of the computer?

    Hi

yes the link is what i intended to try. But couldn't even attempt to repair anything as the pc won't see my keyboard. and, as i wrote, i can't type the password in.

the keyboard is PS2. I get some lights on the keyboard as i switch on the pc.

    no error messages

computer is a pentium 3 Samsung scenic

Have you tried a different keyboard?

I cannot find that model at Samsung.

You may need to find a BIOS download if you don't have one.

The BIOS: Acronym for basic input/output system, the built-in software that determines what a computer can do without accessing programs from a disk. On PCs, the BIOS contains all the code required to control the keyboard, display screen, disk drives, serial communications, and a number of miscellaneous functions.

You need to find the exact Samsung model and or the motherboard ID.

Run this scan and post back what is listed under System Model as well as Main Circuit Board

    http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

We need to then search first Samsung, and failing that, the motherboard manufacturer for your specific BIOS.

Good point ... sorry about that.

If you don't know the exact Samsung model look on the case for a label/sticker.

Somewhere there should be the exact model information.

Samsung only lists laptops. Is this a laptop?

    http://www.samsung.com/products/notebook/index.htm

Drivers and BIOS would be found here:

    hi. it's not a laptop.

    found a sticker:

i report the specs the way they're written (as for me it's arabic ;-)

    model: MUFI

    P/N S26361-K657-V

    GS: 00

    REV: 3A

    D/C YYWW
    0050

    thanks

The only computers I can find from Samsung are laptops. I did find a Scenic line at Fujitsu-Siemens.

Still finding it hard to trace your model although there is a Scenic S

    http://manuals.fujitsu-siemens.com/pc.html

There is a BIOS and manual listed but at the moment I am not able to download off that site. I will keep trying. Can you verify that perhaps your computer is a Fujitsu-Siemens rather than Samsung?

OK ... I can see that at some point Samsung was associated with Fujitsu-Siemens and they did produce a Scenic PC line.

I am still trying to access the download page.
