    OK using your S26361-K657-V

I found your model is SCENIC T (i810)

There is a BIOS here: http://support.fujitsu-siemens.com/c...downloads.html

    Important information:

Note down the settings in the BIOS Setup.
A Flash BIOS update does not normally affect the settings in the BIOS Setup. However, if you want to modify some settings after a Flash-BIOS update you must reconfigure them.
The BIOS is stored in the flash memory. If an error occurs during Flash BIOS updating, the BIOS Setup in the flash memory is destroyed. You can then only restore the BIOS Setup using "Flash Memory Recovery Mode".

The system must not be switched off or reset while programming is in progress.
Do not press the RESET button or the key combination Ctrl + Alt + Del during this operation.

Do not switch off the computer.

These actions would interrupt the Flash BIOS update and destroy the BIOS Setup.

    Installation description:

Boot the system with the inserted Flash BIOS floppy disk.
The FLASHBIO.EXE utility first reads in the BIOS Update file.
Once the Flash Memory type has automatically been recognised, programming begins. The old BIOS
Setup is deleted and overwritten with the contents of the BIOS Update file.

    FLASH BIOS UPDATE DISK (D1170) V4.06 R1.19.1170

When you click that you will see the details that I posted in post #11.

    hi.

downloaded and saved on a floppy.

unfortunatelly when i insert the floppy in the pc i need to repair, i bump into the same problem: i can't type the password in (as the pc won't see my keyboard) so i can't carry on and have the pc to read from the BIOS on the floppy...

    any clues?

    thanks

    Your board manual: http://support.fujitsu-siemens.com/c...t/manuals.html

I am not certain if the Recovery BIOS switch will work here but you should be able to remove the battery for a few minutes and this should clear the BIOS settings including passwords.

The switch is described in the manual:
Recovering System BIOS - switch 2
Switch 2 enables recovery of the old system BIOS after an attempt to update has failed. To restore
the old system BIOS you need a Flash BIOS Diskette (please call our customer service centre).
On The System BIOS executes from floppy drive A: and the inserted "Flash-BIOSDiskette"
restores the System BIOS on the system board.
    Off Normal operation (default setting).

    hi mate

i don't know what i did but now the keyboard is seen by the PC.

i basically opened the PC and connected its hard disk to another PC i have. then i ran a few diagnostic. now i can type the password in....which leads us back to the original problem ;-)

    here is the link:

    http://www.windowsnetworking.com/kba...orcorrupt.html

i downloaded the 4 win 2000 boot disks ( i hope i downloaded the right ones) and as i put the first 1 i get the message (which is in Italian but I'm translating it into English here) that says " insert the name of the interpreter of the commands eg. :,/C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM

    what should i insert?

    thanks

Is your Windows 2000 version in Italian? If not I would think that you got the wrong bootdisks. This is a good source: http://bootdisk.com/

command.com is the command prompt in 2k and XP. I would assume that message is asking for an Italian translation but I really don't know.

Do you have the actual 2K CD?
