Hi, i realise this might seem like a stupid question but if you never ask...
Im just wondering about upgrading ram, i curently have 1 stick of 512MB DDR PC2700 (184).
I was gonna upgrade to a 1GB DDR PC2700 stick, untill i found a cheaper version of the same ram but it was PC3200. Im just wondering if i bought the 3200 will it cancel out the existing 512 PC2700 and if so would it be worth me having say 1.5gb of PC2700 or 1 gb of PC3200.
anyhelp would be apreciated thanks![]()
When you mix RAM speeds everything goes to the lowest common denominator.
In this case everything will run at 2700. Also mixing manufacturers is not a good idea.
I would go with just the single 3200.
Especially since this would leave you free to buy a second one and double it sometime. In my mind, if you have to buy new RAM, you might as well get more of it.Originally Posted by jephree
