Hi All,

New ot this site. I have a Dell Inspirion 3700 with a pc 450 and 192mb of ram, and a 20 gig hard drive. I am running win xp and fedora core 3.

My problem is this, some time ago I turned on the computer and my startup screen went to 640 instead of 1024. I upgraded the bios to the newest version and it went well. My problem is that I can't use any of the newer linux distributions. They install fine but when I reboot the screen just has alot of funny colors and fades in and out. I am very frustrated becasue I don't klnow what to do to fix it. Even the dell startup screen when i first power up is at 640.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What is your Graphics card? Linux would require its' own driver version. Some ideas here:

Does everything work OK with XP?
