Hi Guys, can anyone tell me if it is possible to install an AMD type heatsink onto a P4 . I had a look at my P5 and it seems a lot different to the heatsink and fan I am thinking of installing. the one I have on it now, is very small and I have a lovely bigger heatsink and fan to put on. There is a sort of plastic connecter on it now which is also attached to the Mother board. There does not seem to be any of the clips I used to be able to connect the other Heatsink and Fans on, or each side of the Procesor. Sorry if this is a bit vague.

Someone else may be able to answer this more definitively, but when I was shopping for heatsinks on my AMD Athlon FX and my P4s, there were destinctions between the two class processors. A thermaltake I wanted for both had different Part Numbers for an AMD 940 pin vs an intel 478 pin.

So, just from my experience I would say that there is a difference and that you can not transfer an AMD heatsink onto a P4 heatsink.
