hey guys i have recently just purchased a new fan for my pc as my old one was on the brink of dying. the problem is now after installation of the fan on my amd cpu, when it is booted everything sounds ok but the pc restarts a couple of seconds after starting. i have been told to purchase artic silver and i have done and applied it but there is no difference. is there a possibility that there is too much pressure exerted by the new fan onto the cpu core.

is the heatsink/fan designed for a AMD processor?
is the heatsink seated properly?

yes it is desinged for the amd chip and also yes it is seated properly. i read somewhere that i could try something by removing the cmos battery for 10 mins and put it back in and try that. the problem now is i am booting to a flashing line in the top left corner
