    CD/DVD skipping

Hi, new member here, i have a problem, when i try to play audio cd's or dvd's, they stutter, this happened 18 months ago and i was told to make sure the DMA if available was selected in primary or secondary, this appeared to work, but it's happening again, so i checked that DMA if available is selected...and it is ...hmmm what next, any help would be gratefully received...ta.
ps don't get to technical i'm a pc dinosaur...

    Hi and welcome to D-A-L

a simple question have you tried a CD lens cleaner ?

The laser after a while tend to pick up dust, this dust can seriously affect the capability of the player to read the CDs correctly.

i'll try to get another drive to try, i don't think thats the problem, it's a cd player/writer, but not a dvd writer.
