Floppy drive is connected and seen in BIOS.

When I insert a floppy diskette, and switch on the PC, I get a green light on the floppy drive as it reads the floppy, and then a message which shows that the pc has read the floppy diskette and found it's not a boot diskette.

I take the floppy out to let the pc boot, and A drive is not found.

Go to devices and floppy drive not on list.

Any ideas.

Do you have a Floppy Disk Controller in Device Manager? If so, delete it and reboot. Sounds as though the generic Windows driver for the disk controller may be corrupted. It will automatically re-install itself when your PC next boots up.
