When I put a DVD or CD in the drive I don't want it to do anything, i.e. I just want to go to My Computer, etc. and open it myself. However, I keep getting this box of selections opening. I have ticked the box saying that I always want it to take no action but it still opens next time.
Can any good person offer advice?
Many thanks in anticipation.
The manual way:
Hold down the Shift key untill the CD icon stops blinking. (about 5 seconds).
Also perhaps try this:
First click the start button and then click on My
Computer. When the my computer window opens select the cd-
rom and right click on it. Select properties. Click the
autoplay tab and then click the radio button
marked 'select an action to perform' this is the first
button. Once you have done that all the actions will be
available. Simply select the 'take no action' option then
click apply followed by OK. Now when you insert a cd
nothing should happen until you are ready to do whatever
you want to do.
Hope this helps
