    Hard Drive capacity

I installed two new hard drives to my Dell 4600 desktop running WIN Home XP. One is an internal and the other an external. My computer recognized only 127 GB of the drive. They are both larger. I believe there is something you have to do to you computer to get it to recognize the whole drive, but I can't remember what it is.

Could someone point me in the right direction??

    Thanks.

    Barbara

Right click My computer > Manage > Disk Management. You should see all you hard drives and CD drives listed, and you should also see the 200 gig in there as a dynamic disk, right click that and format it. Then go from there.

Are the hard drives Western Digital drives? If they are Western Digital there is software for them at www.WesternDigital.com

The easiest way to help out where needed is to look under unanswered posts or new posts.
