I have a DVD R/W installed which has played, and does play CDs quite happily.

I've just tried to play a DVD, and I get the picture, but no sound.

Tried the DVD in a laptop, and it works fine - picture and sound.

Update...
Having searched for information. It seems that CODECS are a possible reason. I have downloaded a set of CODECS. Do I uninstall the existing set (both audio and video) and then install the new ones?

Now got the sound working.

I re-installed InterVideo, and PowerDVD software and now have sound.
