I have just purchased a network card for my laptop but when i insert it into the card bus it is not powering the card up to allow me to use for my network. Can anyone tell me if there is something that should be switched on in the computer and how do i do it.

Have you installed the drivers or installation program that came on the floppy disk or CDROM with the network card? You usually have to do that BEFORE you plug the card into the laptop.
