    Question Canon MP370 Printhead

After printouts from my Canon MP370 started showing white patches, I tried all the usual things, including new cartridges and deep head cleaning etc and eventually purchased a new print head. Before fitting it this morning I tried one last nozzle check and sure enough most of the colours sort of showed but there were big white patches on the B&W areas.

Fitting the new printhead seemed quite straightforward. I put in 2 brand new print cartridges (real Canon ones), and tried a nozzle check. Nothing - blank paper. I took the printhead out and put it back in again - still nothing. I tried putting back an old cartridge in case it was that. Still nothing. Any ideas? I've just spent over £50 and now have a printer which does nothing! Any help much appreciated

You often get a little strip of plastic covering ink cartridges to stop the ink drying out so I was just wondering if there was something similar protecting print heads (sometimes, on ink cartridges, it's not especially obvious that you're supposed to remove them).

Nice idea - the thought did occur. But i have examined the printhead minutely and compared it with the old one - can see nothing to remove!
