usb ports aren't working
My usb ports have stopped recognising anything plugged into them. They still charge ipod but pc doesn't recognise it's there or any other usb device. Since they stopped working i have reformatted hard disk, reinstalled xp home, checked usb ports are enabled in BIOS, checked that they show up in device manager... i don't know what else to do and don't have much computer knowledge so PLEASE HELP ME!

Reloading your motherboard and or chipset drivers might help.
They would be found at your motherboard and or computer manufacturers web site.
Look for Downloads > Chipset Drivers

Thanks for your suggestion - i've tried reinstalling the drivers again but still no luck with usb ports. Any other ideas gratefully received...

Have tried everything i can think of but nothing worked so have bought usb pci card off ebay (bargain at £7) which has given me 4 fully working usb ports with no hassle!

Thanks for the update - good to hear that you got a workaround
