Its kinda new , came with my dell but all of a sudden it stopped working , i wanna know if theres a way to find out if its broke so i can get a new one

does it not read any discs at all data or music ?
is the lens dirty, have you tried a CD lens cleaner?

no it doesnt read anything , and no i havent tried cleaning it , im worried about breaking it if it isnt broke....im also thinking that a cd might be inside it like out of the tray blocking the eye
cause my pc is like 4 inches off the ground on a stand and it sometimes tips off of it
