    Angry Persistant Beeping

My computer regularly beeps from the internal speaker. It is just an annoying repeating beep.
The problem started about 3 months after I purchased the system, usually when playing a game with high end graphics, i.e., Half Life 2.

It now beeps when my wife is playing her solitaire game, King Sol.

We recently moved and now the beeping is almost constant, even when it is not under load at the desktop.

    The system is:
    Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro2 Motherboard
    512 MB Ram
    nVidia Geforce 6800 Ultra 256MB AGP8X
    SB Audigy Value
    Maxtor DiamondMax10 300GB HD
    (No Name) DVD/CD-RW Combo drive
    3.5 floppy
    Dell 20" LCD
    Windows XP SP2

When I run the temperature scan software, it shows the CPU at dangerous heat levels.
The temp. gauge on the front of the case goes to 43 C. when under load, around 28 C.
at idle. I can't tell if the temp. probes are corerectly wired.
The CPU fan is running, the 12 cm case fan is running and the video card fan is running.

The computer never locks up, everything runs great, but it keeps right on beeping.

I thought it might possible be the power supply feed to the video card. It appears to be a split feed, rather than two discrete feeders.

After reading the posts here, I checked the ram for dust and possible installation problem, but it appears fine and I get no error codes or other prolems from the memory.

    Any suggestions?

What is the CPU temp that you get? What processor do you have? 43 C is not bad at all for most.

One idea in the following thread is a voltage issue:
