    Angry Modem Conflict Issue

Running win98-se, replaced (broken) v.92 internal modem w/ new Intel v.92 voice/data/fax modem. I removed old modem sofeware prior to rmoving old modem. Put new modem in same PCI slot (also later tried different PCI slot). Installed new software. Tried to connect with my ISP, NETZERO. Says can not dial. In the System board extension for ACPI bus properties, I see a Conflicting divice listed: Memory range OF900000-1F8FFFFF used by Intel (R) 536EP Modem. How can I fix this problem.
    Thanks

As you can see - no replies - tough one.

    1. Did the modem driver install with no problems?
    2. Never mind about the ACPI Bus properties - is the modem listed as a conflicted device?
    3. If not, go to Modem under control panel, right click it and click properties
    4. Go to diagnostics and and query the modem - does it return a result? If it does - you may just not have set your dialing properties properly
    5. If it says something like "Port already open" or another error message you may have to reinstall Windows scratch with the modem installed. This is the easiest way around the problem.

    Regards
