Being a clueless computer person i managed to get my computer to the point where it wouldnt work at all because of the amout of virus' and trojans messing it up. With the help of a friend i think iv cleared them but my computer is so incredibly slow now.

I can handle the slow internet access but my life has been made hell by my dvd player on the computer. Whenever i play a dvd it stutters through, a 2 minute clip takes about 6 minutes to play and the sound is patchy. I have a feeling that this is something to do with the virus' that clogged my computer? Is there anything i can try to get it working properly, sad as it sounds but my i live for my dvd player!!! My friend suggested uninstalling the dvd driver and reinstalling!??!!? Would this help at all??? Or will it never be the same because of the slow computer???
