    tv-tuner

What would you suggest as a good tv-tuner. I have a Dell 8300. I kinda have my heart set on getting a MSI TV@nywhere master. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Can you provide a little more info about what you want from the product, because they very greatly from a basic TV tuner to all singing and dancing. For example which of these potential features is important to you:

    PVR facilities
    EPG capability
    Freeview capability (assuming UK based)
    FM radio
Digitize from external video sources to MPEG compatible files. i.e. let you burn your VHS tapes to VCD and DVD
    remote control
    5.1 sound capability
    widescreen capability
    etc.
    etc.

hey, sorry bout the double post.

    PVR- yes
EPG- dont know what it is
    Freeview capability- not in uk
    FM radio- doesnt matter
    Digitize from external...- yes
5.1- have onboard, but if it gives better sound quality, yes
    remote control- yes
    widescreen- sure, doesnt matter
I would prefer to have it be PCI, unless USB is much bettter.
I had looked into getting the MSI Tv@nywhere, is that a good card??

Well I can't comment on the MSI product as I don't know it but personally when it comes to TV tuners I have always stuck by the Hauppauge product range because of their ease of use, robustness and feature set. As such I would go for this:

    http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/produ...ta_pvr350.html

Or if you're using Win XP MCE then the dual tuner version:

Record one thing while watching another.
