I run windows 98 second ed. I just bought a new HP 1510 all in one print/copy/scan-the printer works the copy function works but it will not scan- I called HP and 2 hrs later the guy said it was a low power problem...He said I needed to use a wall powered usb hub- so I went and bought one but when plugging it in to my computer my computer will not load my system past the splash screen- it just freezes. I have the printer plugged into the wall and not a surge-I also ran a scanner printer(seperate machines all HP) before this and no problem--In my control panel it says all is installed and working correctly and I have no conflicts--I am at my witts end...so short of trying to take it back what do I do to solve the problem--Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to give me
