had posted this on another forum and spent yesterday playing with the machine ggggrrrrr ... tried allsorts .. moving jumpers .. setting bois differently .. putting hdd and cd rom in all different positions .. cdrom is not showing in bios and not on the posts and not in disc management .. doesn't seem to want to auto detect .. dont think its a power problem because it will still open and close so don't think its the ide .. could it just be the drivers ?? slightly baffled ... anyone any idea's .. please

is the CD rom on a seperate IDE cable? have you tried them both on the same IDE cable as master and slave

changed the ide cable all together and its done the job thanks for advice
