I have recently had aZTV wireless camera installed to my TV.IT came with Home Watcher software which presumably means that it can be attached to my computer. However it is not a USB device and is powered at the Tv end with a transformer plugged in to the mains. The camera itself is powered by a Heavy Duty 9volt battery.
Can anyone help a novice such as myself to install this on my Pc and use the Home Watcher software.(THis states that it requires a Capture Card and I don't even know what that means). The connection to the TV and wireless receiver are bayonet fittings coloured red and yellow.
It all seemed so simple in theory but there are no instructions with it to answer the basic question of where and how to connect to a PC.
Help would be appreciated.

What they mean is that you need a Video Capture Card installed on your pc in order to get the feed from the camera on your pc. as for recommendations, i have none because ive never used one![]()
Thanks for your help, unfortunately I've never used one either.
I assume I haven't got a video capture card on my PC.Can anyone enlighten me as to how to obtain and install one?

You can obtain some from many of places. specifically newegg.com but i would research more abou the specific type of card you need since there is multiple types of capture cards.
I have now done some research and find that the software supplied with the camera (Home watcher) has a number of question marks.Originally Posted by SpikedRedBull
1)It was originally developed for Windows 98,Me and 2000.There could be problems installing to XP with service pack2.
2)The technical support offered was by a third party who is still operating but has cancelled the link in the software with Home Watcher, and no longer offers support for this software.
3)Home Watcher is for sale as a business.
The camera itself was supposed to be wireless but there is no room for the battery in the Dome. The Camera is ZTV Wireless camera 1.2Ghz.
I have thus asked the installer to remove the camera, rather than connect it to the mains as he suggested.
I report all this in the hope that it will be of assistance to others in the minefield of PC accesories.
Can anyone give me advice about buying and installing a CCTV camera to my PC?
