Processor running at half speed, help!
Hey, I could really use some help with a problem I am having. I have had my computer for a little over a year now, and it contains an Intel P4 2.8 GHz Processor. It wasnt until recently with the arrival of more demanding cpu games that i noticed it was running slower than it should be. When checking the system stats and such, it says i have a P4 2.8, but it also says 1.4 right below it. I ran the hardware scan on d-a-l homepage and it says that the processor is clocked at only half speed! I would appreciate it very much if someone could help me out.

ChezQ,
Do you still have this problem? If so, is your system a laptop? Many laptops will run slower than the maximum speed in order to save power. This could be set up either in the BIOS or using Intel's Speedstep utility in Windows.
Regardless of whether your system is a laptop or PC, you might like to take a look in the BIOS (link) and review the processor settings to see whether they need adjusting.
