how do i get wi-fi on my pc, i am buying a dvd-recorder which can play files directly from my computer using wi-fi, i know by google that it is wireless, but not bluetooth.

i have this thing on my network connections which is "1394 net adapter" which i have found out (google again) is firewire, is this what wi-fi is used on?

i have an idea as to what it is,

is it a wireless network, between my pc and the dvd-recorder, the recorder has a built in wi-fi card.


my OS is XP

wifi is wireless internet access thru a wireless router. you would need a wireless router + a wireless wi-fi card in your pc in order to recieve the wi-fi signal from your recorder.
