    PS2 keyboard freezes

The keyboard (PS2) working no problem in bios or dos, but intermitant faults in XP where it will not work. Re-boot sometimes works, but mainly not.

The keyboard and mouse (which sometimes freezes as well) are both USBs with converters to PS2.

I've tried standard PS2 keyboard and mouse, and get the same result. So, it's the PS2 ports.

I'm getting a USB hub. So there will be enough room to have the keyboard and mouse connected via USB.
    Will this correct the problem.

Not sure whether it would fix the problem but at least, with them using the correct USB ports, you can unplug them and plug them straight back in without having to reboot. I have a similar problem on my laptop at work - my USB mouse works fine for a couple of hours and then it freezes so I have to disconnect it and plug it back in again.

Once you've fitted the USB hub, it would be worth checking whether there are any specific drivers for your keyboard and mouse - check the manufacturer's web site to get the latest versions.

The hub did the trick as far as the keyboard was concerned, but the wireless mouse is still a bit flaky, but I'm using a USB wired mouse with no problem - I hate Packard Bell!

    Thanks,
