Built a pc for my dad, gigabyte ga-7ixe4 , amd duron 1.3ghz, 128mgb dimm, 20gig hard drive. The problem is that im trying to install windows xp but the system keeps hanging on the setup is starting windows page ! do i need the latest bios ? how do i flash a new bios when i cant start windows ? i have the latest bios on floppy but the computer says " invalid system disc " when i try to load it ! HELP

I did find this in the FAQ:

When I installed Duron 1G, system cannot boot.


Please update the latest BIOS.

Have you looked thru the manual for other issues & proper setup? They also have a detailed section on flashing the BIOS.
