My brother's monitor display has turned into displaying a slight yellow tint.Its a pretty cheap and cheerful 15" tft emachines monitor.

I have a little bit of experience and everything I have tried has failed.Checked and changed cables,connectors,video card,gamma correction,degraussing and finally changed the monitor which confirmed something was amiss with the said monitor.The thing that is getting on my wick is this......

There is an auto adjust button on the monitor.If this is pressed, the display momentarily returns to normality.......5 seconds later,back to yellow.Also, the menu button on the monitor does not function.

Have I missed something?Is the monitor brown bread?Could it be something to do with too many broken pixels?any advice would be appreciated.

has he got any speakers etc near the monitor? does the monitor work OK on another PC?

He says there were speakers next to it for nearly a year before it went yellow but haven't had the opportunity to try the monitor on a different computer.The thing bugging me is that the menu button on the monitor does not work and i really dont fancy opening the monitor up........

Have just mostly solved the problem....seems my bro must have played about with Adobe Gamma.Tweaking with that a little bit has helped a bunch.Plus, even though the menu button on the monitor wasnt displaying, it was still functioning.So after many random pressing of buttons untill the desired result appeared, he now has something he can tolerate!
