Okay well I'm extremely newb at this so I may not be providing enough information. Well anyways A month back my computer didn't boot but gave me these long continous beeps. I had no clue what it meant so my dad brought it over to get it repaired. It turns out that the memory (or RAM I'm not sure if they're the same) was just really dusty.

Now just recently there was an internet connection problem. It seems that my dad and brothers internet were working alright (we're connected by router) but mine didn't seem to be.

I Virus scanned and Spy swept and I only got 37 adwares and something called Trojan Backdoor Zubox. I later discovered that I was not a virus according to some.

Now with this internet problem I slept early and in the morning I heard 1 long beeps 3 short beeps. I did not touch the inside of my computer from the last night to the morning.

Then I read something about a memory failure and reinstalling my memory should do the work (which I did like 20 minutes ago) Now I'm getting the same Continuous beeps I got last month

Maybe I'm installing it wrong or something. Can anyone help Please?

Your RAM should only fit in one way, it may be that the RAM has failed if you look at the gold contacts one or more may be burned out.

were you careful with ESD when you removed the RAM ?

Well I just checked it and it doesn't seem like one of the contacts have burned out.

I'm not sure what ESD means (Again I am very newb).

Anyways I just can't seem to fit the stick in and lock it in with the white locks at the end. Is there a procedure I haven't taken?

ESD - Electro-Static Discharge..........it's the build up of static in your body and sensitive electonic parts don't like it to much.

Well it seems like it's ok.

When I woke up one day it was beeping "1 long 3 short".
I took it out and it beeped "Long beeps continually".
I finally got it back in and its beeping "1 long 3 short".

The day it started beeping "1 long 3 short" I didn't even touch the inside of it.
