I'm upgrading my computers graphics card from an 128mb GeForce FX 5200 to either an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB, or an ATI Radeon 9600 XT 256MB, and was wondering what differences in performance I may experience in game play with todays game, ie. HL2, Brothers in Arms Ect... Its just that I've heard that the 9800 isn't much different in performance that the 9600, Thanks again Guys.

Tricky choice there! Had a quick look at specs - the 9600XT actually has a faster core speed (500MHz) than the 9800Pro (380MHz). With the extra 128Mb on the 9600XT you might get better performance with that one. The 9800Pro has more pixel pipelines and slightly later version of the Smartshader engine. They both seem to retail at roughly the same price, so I would go for the 9600XT. But that's just my own opinion!
