We had power failure, cmos sees hard drive no problem. When booting it does not see drive though. No noise coming from drive, have tried using fdisk /mbr but says no fixed disk present. Any ideas please

If you're using a FAT16 or FAT32 O/S, (Win9x) boot with an EBD (Emergency Boot Disk) and when you get the A:\> prompt, type in;

fdisk/status

Is the hard disk listed?

If so, enter fdisk, choose Y for large disk support (if asked) and choose option 4. Exactly what does it say?
