I tired to upgrade my bios before I get a new processor, now I have a serious problem. I thought the upgrade had finished, so I rebooted, now (even though the computer makes all the same noises, and the lights come on), there is nothing onscreen, the monitor just goes into standby mode. I have checked all connections and taken out the battery to clear the cmos, but it still doesnt work.

My motherboard is the ASUS A7M266, my bios id an Award

If you've tried flashing the BIOS and not completed it you may have problems..if your old BIOS has been deleted then the easiest thing to do is get another motherboard. as replacing the BIOS chip is not as easy as it was years ago

Ive just got a reply from Asus and they offered to attempt to reprogram my Bios chip for a small fee (£3), so I'm going to give that a go. Thanks anyway
