Power Supply Problem

Power Supply Problem
I think I have a power supply problem. I have an old Sony with a pentium 2 processor, and it won't turn on anymore. I took out the power supply and put it in another computer and it powered up, but I was not getting any voltage to any of my disk drives. I left in on for a few minutes and finally the fans started and my monitor turned on with a message that no disk drives were found and to press the space bar to continue without a hard drive. Do you think that the power supply is my problem or the motherboard.

Just to clarify:
1. The old Sony won't turn on.
2. You tested the power supply on another computer & it worked ok?
3. The voltage to disks & the message that no drives were found:
a) Was this on the old Sony?
b) Or the other computer?
4. What is the exact model of the old Sony?
a) Are you familiar with opening the case?
b) Clearing the CMOS?

When I plug the power supply into the old Sony and press the on button, absolutely nothing happens. When I tried the power supply into a test computer, the only component that turned on was the motherboard. There was no voltage going to any other component like hard drive and cd -rom drives. After a few minutes, the motherboard in my test computer made my monitor wake up and displayed a message saying that no hard drive was detected, press space bar to continue without hard drive. Also, the fan in the power supply and the fan over the processor started spinning. This all occured in my test computer. Unfortunitly I don't have a model number of the Sony because it is being used by my fiances grandmother and I didn't want to take the whole tower so I only took the power supply. I have only opened the case to install more memory, a new network card, and modem. I didn't reset the CMOS in the old Sony. The power supply in question is an ATX power supply. Any suggestions would be great.
